Alderwood Linen Shade Table Lamp

The Alderwood Linen Shade Table Lamp from Solae Design is built from two honest materials and very little else: a turned wood base in a walnut tone, a slim metal collar, and a plain fabric drum shade. There is no ornament anywhere on it, which is precisely why it settles into so many different rooms without argument.

The wood carries the warmth and the fabric carries the light, softening it into a broad, even pool suited to reading rather than flooding a room. Three shade colourways are offered, tan, green and beige, each against the same walnut base, so the lamp can either recede into a neutral scheme or supply a single note of colour. At 11.8 inches across and 17.3 inches tall it is scaled for a nightstand or a shelf rather than a large console.

Works beside a bed, in a reading nook, on a living room shelf, or as a matched pair flanking a sofa where symmetry matters. Wood grain varies naturally from piece to piece.
