Stellara Crystal Teardrop Chandelier

The Stellara Crystal Teardrop Chandelier from Solae Design gathers cut crystal drops around a single copper or bronze armature, tapering as it descends. At 14.2″ across and 15.7″ tall it is compact for a chandelier — closer in scale to a large pendant, and intended for rooms where a full-width fixture would overwhelm the space around it.

The crystal is faceted rather than smooth, which is the point of the design: light entering each drop refracts and scatters, throwing small points of light onto the surrounding ceiling and walls. The effect is strongest in a darker room and at lower dimmer settings, where the drops themselves become the brightest thing in the space rather than the source above them. The metal armature stays visible and reads warm against the clear crystal.

Suited to a small dining table, an entry, or above a bedside where the scattered light is welcome at low level. Offered in copper and bronze, both of which warm the refracted light slightly. Crystal drops collect dust and dull over time — clean them individually with a soft cloth and a little distilled water, then dry immediately to avoid spotting. Hardwired installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician following local codes.
