Description
The Sculpted Stallion Head Brass Sconce from Solae Design centres on a finely modelled horse head mounted against a detailed wall plate in a gilded antique brass finish. The sculpting is genuine three-dimensional casting rather than a pressed relief, which is what allows the piece to hold attention as an object even when the lamp is switched off during the day.
Above it sits a finely pleated fabric shade trimmed with passementerie-style detailing. The pleating breaks light into narrow vertical bands as it passes through the beige fabric, so the glow arrives warm and textured rather than flat, and the trim catches a little extra brightness along its edge.
At 7.9 inches wide and 14.6 inches tall it has real vertical presence without demanding a large wall. Suited to a grand staircase, a wood-panelled study, or flanking a vanity mirror where the sculptural detail reads properly. It takes E12 or E14 candelabra lamps and dims with a compatible bulb and TRIAC dimmer switch. Hardwired with all mounting hardware included. A dimmable LED lamp paired with a TRIAC-compatible dimmer switch such as a Lutron Skylark or a Leviton Decora will give the smoothest low-end range for evening use in a study or hallway.
