Portable Solar Handle Lantern

• Small: Dia 12.2" x H 15.4" / Dia 31 cm x H 39 cm
• Large: Dia 16.1" x H 20.5" / Dia 41 cm x H 52 cm
• Choosing a size: the smaller suits balconies, small patios, side tables and narrow paths; the larger has enough presence to hold a lawn, a wide terrace or an outdoor lounge setting on its own
• Solar siting: charge where the lantern receives 4–6 hours of direct, unshaded sun — it can then be carried anywhere for the evening
• Clear space: allow a clear margin of at least 4–6" around the base on a table or ledge, and keep the handle path free so it can be lifted without moving anything else
• Spacing: used in a run along a path or terrace edge, set units 6–10 ft apart so the pools of light meet
• Setback: on the ground, keep 12–18" back from the walking edge, clear of foot traffic
• Surface: stands free on any level, firm surface — no hardwiring, conduit or outdoor outlet is required

The Portable Solar Handle Lantern from Solae Design is built to be picked up and moved. A curved stainless steel frame carries a soft white shade and an ergonomic handle, so the lamp goes where the evening goes — onto the table for dinner, down to the end of the garden afterwards, back under cover when the weather turns. The silhouette is deliberately quiet, closer to a sculptural object than a piece of garden hardware.

Two sizes cover different jobs. The smaller suits balconies, small patios, side tables and narrow paths, where its footprint stays out of the way. The larger has enough presence to hold a lawn, a wide terrace or an outdoor lounge setting on its own. Both give the same soft, diffused glow rather than a hard point of light, which is what makes them comfortable to sit beside rather than merely useful for seeing by.

Power comes entirely from the integrated solar panel, which charges through the day and lights the lantern automatically at dusk. Four to six hours of sun returns roughly eight to ten hours of light. A touch switch on the body handles manual control, and the lamp is compatible with a remote dimmer switch. The IP65-rated housing takes rain and irrigation in its stride, though it should never be immersed.
