Petal Shell Wall Light

Somewhere between a blooming petal and a gently curved shell, the Petal Shell Wall Light earns its place on the wall whether or not it is switched on. Soft curves and organic proportions make it read as an object first and a light fixture second, which is the quality that separates functional art from a fitting you stop noticing after a week. It is a quiet piece with a serene presence.

Translucent glass turns the output into a soft ambient wash rather than a beam, and that is precisely what makes it work in the places harsh lighting tends to ruin: hallways, bedsides, and the quieter corners of a living room where you want atmosphere instead of task light. A warm-toned bulb around 2700 to 3000 kelvin brings out the translucency of the glass most effectively.

Four earthy colourways are offered, in beige, green, brown and amber, all chosen to harmonise with existing decor rather than compete with it. The sconce projects only thirteen centimetres from the wall, so it works in a corridor without catching shoulders. Installation is hardwired and pairs with a standard wall switch, and the fitting is rated IP20 for indoor use, so it should be kept clear of direct splash in a bathroom.
