The Minimal Cone Patio Lamp is an exercise in leaving things out. A plain aluminium stem rises to a simple cone shade, textured matt black throughout, with no visible fixings and no decorative detail anywhere on the body. The shape is old enough to be familiar and clean enough to sit against contemporary architecture, planting or paving without arguing with any of them.

The cone does real work as well as looking right. Its angle directs light downward into a defined circle rather than letting it scatter, which keeps the glow on the ground where it is useful and out of the sightline of anyone seated nearby. At 19.7 inches tall the head sits well below standing eye level, so the lamp lights a border or the edge of a patio without becoming the brightest thing in view.

The integrated LED runs warm at 3000K and draws roughly 7W, so a run of several across a garden costs very little to leave on through an evening. The aluminium body carries an IP54 rating — splash and rain resistant and suited to sheltered outdoor positions such as a covered patio, porch or planted border, rather than fully exposed sites where standing water or direct irrigation is likely.
