Heron Gooseneck Chandelier

The Heron Gooseneck Chandelier from Solae Design carries its shades on long curved arms that rise from a central stem and bend over at the tip, the profile that gives the gooseneck form its name. The curve does the work a straight arm cannot — it places each shade well outboard of the stem while keeping the whole fixture visually light and open.

Because the arms sweep rather than radiate flat, the shades sit at slightly different depths and the fixture reads as three-dimensional from any angle rather than as a flat ring seen edge-on. Light is directed downward from each shade individually, which gives defined pools at table height instead of one diffuse mass from above. That matters over a dining table, where you want the surface lit and the ceiling left dark.

Best suited to a dining table, a kitchen island, or an entry hall with the height and width to carry the arm span comfortably. Wipe the metal with a soft dry cloth and avoid abrasive or ammonia-based cleaners, which will dull the finish over time. Hardwired installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician following local codes. Bulbs are not included, and because the sockets sit exposed the shape of the bulb you choose stays visible.
