Harrow Aged Brass & Linen Chandelier

The Harrow Aged Brass & Linen Chandelier from Solae Design arranges individual linen drum shades on curved brass arms radiating from a central stem. The brass is finished with an aged patina rather than polished, so the frame reads as settled rather than new — a farmhouse and transitional form more than a formal one, and easier to place in a room that is not otherwise period.

Each shade is lit separately, which is what distinguishes this from a single-source fixture: light arrives as a ring of discrete warm points at shade height rather than one mass from above. Linen diffuses each one softly and takes the hard edge off the source behind it. Five configurations are offered, from a three-head at 24.8″ across up to a ten-head spanning 35″, so the same design scales from a breakfast nook to a full dining table.

Suited to dining rooms, kitchen tables and entry halls with height to spare above head level. Linen shades collect dust and should be cleaned with a low-suction vacuum brush attachment rather than a damp cloth, which will water-mark the fabric. Aged brass is intended to develop further patina over time and should not be polished. Hardwired installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician following local codes.
