Four Sided Pillar Post Lantern

• Small: L 9.8" x W 9.8" x H 10.6" / L 25 cm x W 25 cm x H 27 cm
• Medium: L 11.8" x W 11.8" x H 12.6" / L 30 cm x W 30 cm x H 32 cm
• Large: L 15.7" x W 15.7" x H 16.5" / L 40 cm x W 40 cm x H 42 cm
• Spacing: along a driveway or path, set posts 6–10 ft apart so the pools of light meet and no dark gaps form between them
• Setback: keep 12–18" back from the edge of the path or drive, clear of foot traffic, mower lines and vehicle overhang
• Pier and gatepost mounting: center the fixture on the pier face and check the fixture footprint against the pier before ordering — the body should sit within the cap, not overhang it
• Choosing a configuration: wired versions need a buried conduit stub brought up at the exact mounting point, set before any paving or concrete is poured; the solar version needs no cable route at all
• Solar siting: site where the head receives 4–6 hours of direct, unshaded sun — overhanging trees are the usual cause of a short run time

The Four Sided Pillar Post Lantern from Solae Design is a clean-lined light for gateposts, driveway entrances and garden walls. An open stainless steel frame carries a diffusing panel on each face, so light leaves the fixture on all four sides instead of pooling straight down. The result marks a boundary and lights the ground around it at the same time, which is what a post light is actually for.

The range covers three body sizes and four power configurations. Wired versions run on AC 85–265V for standard mains installation, or on DC 12V and DC 24V for low-voltage landscape circuits already in the ground. A solar-powered version is available where running a cable is impractical — on a far gatepost, a boundary wall or a garden that was never trenched. Choosing between them is usually a question of what the site already has rather than what the light can do.

Materials are chosen for a fixture that lives outdoors permanently. The stainless steel body resists corrosion in coastal and high-rainfall conditions, and the sealed housing carries an IP65 rating against driving rain and garden irrigation. The silver gray finish stays quiet against brick, render and timber. Warm light keeps the effect welcoming rather than institutional, which matters most on an entrance you use every day.
