Description
The Acanthus Brass Hurricane Glass Sconce from Solae Design layers a richly detailed backplate with carved acanthus leaves, branching out to hold hurricane glass shades. Each etched shade works as a chimney around the lamp, which is the traditional arrangement and still the most effective: it protects the flame-like source and diffuses it evenly in every direction.
Two configurations are offered. The single head at 7.9 inches wide suits a narrow wall or a repeated hallway run; the two-head at 11.8 inches has the spread to flank a mirror properly. Both stand 12.6 inches tall and project 5.1 inches, so neither crowds a corridor.
Finished in antique brass with clear etched glass. Well suited to bathroom mirror flanking, hallway accent lighting, a formal dining room or a sophisticated powder room. It takes E12 or E14 candelabra lamps and dims with a compatible bulb and TRIAC dimmer switch. Hardwired to a standard single-gang wall box with all mounting hardware included and a licensed electrician recommended for the installation itself. Etched hurricane shades lift clear of the fitting for lamp changes, and each one takes a widely available E12 or E14 candelabra bulb so replacements stay simple to source at short notice anywhere.
