Swivel Brass Cone Wall Sconce

The Swivel Brass Cone Wall Sconce from Solae Design is a plain brass cone on a swivel joint, and that is the entire fixture. There is no shade, no diffuser and no ornament anywhere on it. What it has instead is a small key at the side that lets you tilt the cone by hand and leave it wherever you want it, which quietly turns one fixture into several different lights.

Angle it up to wash a wall, straight out to spotlight a picture, or down to drop a pool of light onto a book or a stair tread. The cone shape keeps the beam controlled, so a tilted sconce lights what you aimed it at rather than glaring back into the room. It takes a standard E12 candelabra lamp, which keeps replacements cheap and easy to source anywhere.

At 12 inches tall and 6.3 inches across it is deliberately modest, and that scale makes it easy to repeat. Run three down a corridor for even rhythm, mount a pair either side of a mirror, or fit one beside a bed. Available in brass for warmth, black for contrast, and chrome for cooler contemporary schemes. Hardwired to a standard single-gang box.
