Marrakech Tufted Tassel Rug

The Marrakech Tufted Tassel Rug from Solae Design borrows the diamond geometry of Moroccan weaving and softens it with a Nordic palette. Where a traditional Berber rug leans on high contrast, this one keeps the linework quiet, so the pattern registers as texture from across the room and only resolves into geometry when you are standing on it.

The surface is tufted rather than flat-woven, giving it a plush, slightly irregular hand that feels closer to something made by a person than by a machine. Hand-knotted tassels finish each end and stop the rug from reading as a rectangle dropped on the floor. Underfoot it is genuinely soft, which matters for the places this size tends to end up.

Two sizes cover the usual jobs: a 60 x 90 cm for a bedside or nursery floor, and a longer 60 x 130 cm for the strip of kitchen in front of the sink where you stand the longest. Three colourways let it sit warm or cool against existing floors. It washes below 40 degrees and should be dried flat to keep the tassels straight.
