The Petala Six-Petal Ceiling Light from Solae Design opens like a flower caught at its best moment. Six petals gather around a low-profile body, so the fixture stays close to the ceiling while still reading as an object rather than a light fitting. Unlit, it holds its shape as a piece of sculpture; lit, the petals catch and soften the light before it reaches the room.

The flush profile is what makes it practical for the rooms it suits best. At 12 cm deep it clears the swing of a door and sits comfortably under the lower ceilings common in children's rooms and converted lofts, where a pendant would either crowd the space or be at head height. Four body colours are available, so it can either disappear into a white ceiling or provide the single note of colour in an otherwise plain room.
