The Round Acrylic Silent Wall Clock from Solae Design strips a wall clock back to the parts that do the work: a flat acrylic face, clear number markers, and hands with enough contrast to be read at a glance. Nothing is added around the edge, so the clock takes up wall without taking over it — which is the whole point on a wall that already has something else on it.

A silent quartz movement runs the hands with no audible tick. Acrylic helps here too: it is light, so the clock hangs off a single fixing without stressing plasterboard, and it does not carry sound the way a hollow metal case does. In a study, a home office or a room where someone is trying to concentrate, it stays out of the way entirely.
