The Pleated Empire Shade Brass Chandelier from Solae Design is anchored by a dark fluted column, with brass arms sweeping outward from it in a long unhurried curve. Each arm carries a hand-pleated empire shade in beige. The pleating is not decorative filler — it breaks the light into dozens of narrow vertical bands, so the glow arrives textured and warm rather than flat and clinical.

This is the grandmillennial look done with restraint. The proportions are traditional but the arms are slender and the shades modest, which keeps the fixture from overwhelming a contemporary room. It sits comfortably in a period property and in a new build alike, and pairs well with dark wood, painted panelling, antique rugs and layered textile schemes.

The two-head linear version spans 63 inches and is built for a long dining table, a kitchen island, or a billiards room. The six-head round version at 41.3 inches suits a square dining room, a foyer, or a stair landing where guests arrive. Both hang on a 19.7 inch chain that can be trimmed on site to set the drop precisely, and both are rated for sloped and cathedral ceilings. Available in brass with red bronze detailing.
