The Moon Surface LED Wall Clock from Solae Design casts its face as a lunar surface — pitted, ridged, textured rather than flat — and sets an analog dial into it. The texture is what carries the piece; a smooth disc with a moon print on it would read as a poster, while a surface with real relief catches room light differently from every angle.

An integrated warm white LED sits behind that surface. Switched on, it grazes the texture from within and the craters and ridges separate into light and shadow, which is the same trick that makes the real thing legible from Earth. Used at night it works as a soft ambient light rather than a task light, sitting somewhere between a nightlight and a wall lamp. ABS carries the structure and acrylic takes the surface detail, which keeps a piece this wide light enough to hang easily.

It runs from USB rather than batteries, so there is a cable to route but nothing to replace every few months and no disposable cells accumulating.
