Vintage Utility Alabaster Wall Sconce

The Vintage Utility Alabaster Wall Sconce from Solae Design sets a rounded alabaster shade on a simple brass body, borrowing its proportions from old workshop and ship fittings. There is no ornament anywhere on it. What you get instead is a compact, honest fixture that reads as useful rather than decorative, which is precisely why it settles into so many rooms.

The stone softens the lamp into an even glow with no visible source, and the round shade throws light both downward and outward rather than in a single direction. It takes a standard E26 or E27 lamp, so replacements are easy to find, and dims with a compatible bulb and TRIAC dimmer switch.

At 4.5 inches across and 10.4 inches tall it suits a hallway, a bedside, a bathroom, an entryway or a coastal-leaning living room. Finished in brass with a white alabaster shade, each carrying its own natural veining. Hardwired to a standard single-gang wall box with all mounting hardware included and a licensed electrician recommended.
