Canna Ribbed Glass & Brass Pendant

The Canna Ribbed Glass & Brass Pendant from Solae Design shapes its shade into a ribbed dome that widens toward the rim, drawn from the profile of a lotus flower. Brass hardware caps the top and carries the stem; the glass below is left clear of any fitting, so the ribs run uninterrupted from crown to edge without a band breaking the line.

The ribbing is structural to how the fixture lights. Each channel in the glass bends light slightly differently, breaking what would otherwise be a flat glow into vertical bands — visible on the shade itself and faintly repeated on the surface below it. Two colourways are offered: a deep blue that reads almost opaque when unlit and glows richly when on, and a clear version that stays largely transparent and shows the source through the glass.

Three configurations are available — two single-head sizes intended for use in a run over an island or bar, and a three-head fitting on a 31.5″ bar for a dining table or a longer counter. Clean the glass with a soft damp cloth and dry immediately, avoiding ammonia-based cleaners which will mark the brass permanently. Hardwired installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician following local codes.
