Petite Alabaster & Brass Flush Mount

The Petite Alabaster & Brass Flush Mount from Solae Design pairs a rounded alabaster shade with a brass ceiling mount, and sits only 5.3 inches deep. It is built for rooms where a pendant would hang in the way — low ceilings, the top of a stair, a coat closet, a compact hallway, or a child's bedroom where headroom matters a great deal more than drama ever will.

Stone diffuses the source completely, so there is no bright spot overhead and no glare when you look up. In a corridor that is the difference between a ceiling light you notice every time you pass beneath it and one you never think about at all. The alabaster carries its own veining, which gives even a small fixture genuine presence once the light is switched on.

It takes a standard E26 or E27 lamp, so bulbs are easy to source and easy to change from a step ladder. At this scale it also works well in multiples — space three or four evenly along a corridor ceiling for consistent light without resorting to a run of recessed downlights. Finished in brass with a white alabaster shade and supplied with all mounting hardware included.
