The Brass Urn & Scalloped Shade Sconce from Solae Design centres a sculpted antique brass urn against a bold black backplate, with twin arms carrying scalloped fabric shades. The urn is the anchor of the composition and the black plate is what makes it legible, giving the brass something dark to read against rather than disappearing into a pale wall.

Scalloped shades soften the edge of the fixture and diffuse both lamps into an even, glare-free glow. Because the two heads sit level with one another, light spreads across a wall rather than pooling at one end, which matters when the sconce is doing real work beside a mirror or above a buffet.

At 15.7 inches across and 15 inches tall the proportions are generous and near-square, so it suits a wall with some width to give. Well suited to flanking a formal dining room buffet, framing a powder room vanity mirror, or elevating an upscale entryway or hallway. It takes E12 or E14 candelabra lamps and dims with a compatible bulb and TRIAC dimmer switch. Hardwired with all mounting hardware included. A licensed electrician is recommended for the installation, and the fixture fits a standard single-gang box so it can replace an existing sconce without any additional making good.
