The Fluted Black & Brass Double Wall Sconce from Solae Design sets two candle arms against a fluted matte black column, capped with tailored white fabric tapered shades. The contrast is the point: antique brass warmth against the cool graphic black of the fluting, which stops a traditionally proportioned fixture from reading as merely period reproduction.
Fabric shades diffuse the lamps into a soft, glare-free glow, and because both sit at the same height the light spreads evenly rather than pooling at one end. At 16.5 inches across and 26 inches tall this is a substantial fixture with real presence, so it wants a wall that can carry it rather than a narrow pier.
Well suited to flanking a fireplace mantel in a formal living room, framing a mirror in a grand entryway, or elevating a hallway gallery wall. It takes E12 or E14 candelabra lamps and dims with a compatible bulb and TRIAC dimmer switch. Hardwired to a standard single-gang box with all mounting hardware included and a licensed electrician recommended. Two finishes are offered, antique brass throughout or antique brass paired with the black fluted column, so the fixture can either warm a room or sit graphically against pale plaster.
