Description
The Antique Brass Tapered Shade Wall Sconce from Solae Design pairs a warm aged brass body with a tapered metal shade in deep black bronze, carried on a distinctive sculptural U-shaped arm. The silhouette borrows from heritage library fittings without copying them, and the dark shade keeps the fixture from reading as merely decorative brass on a wall.
Because the shade is solid metal rather than glass or fabric, the light is directed rather than diffused. It throws a defined cone downward and a softer wash upward, which suits a wall you want to model with light rather than flood evenly. At 9.8 inches wide and 9.1 inches tall it stays compact enough to repeat along a corridor without crowding, and the projection is modest at 5.9 inches.
Well suited to a bedroom either side of a headboard, flanking a mantel in a den, or running along a library or formal hallway wall. Two finishes are offered: antique brass throughout, or antique brass with the black bronze shade for more contrast. Hardwired to a standard single-gang box, with all mounting hardware included. Dimmable when paired with a dimmable LED lamp and a TRIAC-compatible dimmer switch, and it takes a standard E12 or E14 candelabra lamp so replacements stay easy to source anywhere.
