Round Alabaster Disc Wall Sconce

The Round Alabaster Disc Wall Sconce from Solae Design is a single round disc of natural alabaster framed by a slim brass surround — the simplest possible way to put stone on a wall. Because the disc faces outward rather than hanging below an arm, the whole face glows evenly when lit and the veining reads right across it like a drawing rather than concentrating in one corner of the shade.

The flat profile keeps it close to the wall, which matters a great deal in a corridor or beside a mirror where projection gets in the way. Light is diffused entirely through the stone, so there is no visible lamp and no glare at face height at all. That makes it as practical for a bathroom vanity as it is decorative on a living room wall.

Four finishes take it in genuinely different directions: bronze and copper for warmth against timber and plaster, black for contrast in a graphic scheme, and nickel for something cooler and more contemporary. At 14 inches tall and 5.9 inches wide it suits a hallway sequence, a bedside pair, or a wall that needs light rather than art. Each shade carries its own veining.
