Iron gives the body its structure, aluminum carries heat away from the LED, and a silicone element takes up the tolerance between them so the assembly stays tight rather than rattling loose over years of thermal cycling.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe acrylic diffuser is the part that decides how the fixture reads in a room. Without it an integrated LED shows as a bright line at eye level; behind it, the output is spread across the full face and no part of the fixture is uncomfortable to look at directly. The light lands as an even wash rather than as a hotspot with fall-off around it.
